After completing his primary education in Devananda Colleage, Hirosh Mendis pursued his higher education at Dharmashoka College in Ambalangoda. His Bachelor of Science degree was granted by the Open University of Sri Lanka. As a nature lover he has rendered a great service in introducing a new crab species to the world. In 1998 Hirosh Mendis began his career in Colombo as a professional lecturer later spread the improvising profession island wide. Most of international and even government schools acknowledged his service as a visiting lecturer. His demand surged after some of his students were able to obtain not only Island but also world ranks in even Cambridge and Edexcel international examinations.
